Hey everyone!
Well, the record has been out for over a month now and thank you so much to all those of you who have bought it - your support, as ever, means everything to us. Susu
tells me we have sold over seven hundred copies which is absolutely fantastic. Your contributions have made a huge impact, so thankyou all so so much. It's really important now that we make an impact with the quantity of records sold as this will encourage our label to consider a full-blown commercial release.
It's so exciting to think that we're out there on wax again, and
I'm sure we'll have some positive feedback from the DJs as we've had in the past. Airplay would be a fantastic bonus - I sent some copies to radio contacts and have trusted friends listening out for it on regional radio. I'll be tuning in to BBC London hoping my hero Norman Jay might squeeze it into his Sunday evening slot! Yes, a contact of mine works with the legendary Mr Jay, so hopefully 'AIKY' will find its way into the hands of this highly influential man.
Thankyou also for your positive responses to the video. Nick and I are thrilled with it and it gives the website that special touch. We are using it for promotional purposes so we will have that extra pulling power. Now it's all in the lap of the Gods as they say, we'll let you know if we're any closer to a TOTP gig but don't set your videos quite yet!!
Lots and lots of love and thanks always, Harriet xxxxxxxxxx
Hello Mama Friends!
I'm half way round the world at the moment in Melbourne, Australia enjoying the beautiful antipodean summer. I arrived in Oz on Valentine's day! However, I had spent 4 days in Los Angeles staying with my great friend Matthew Lessall who is now a high flying casting director for 20th Century Fox no less......!
While I was in LA I had the good fortune to hook up with Mama Razzi's fantastic remixer Mr Mac Quayle at his stunning residence high in the hills of Topanga just south of Malibu, thank you very much. Mac was the consumate host, his home can only be descibed as breathtaking and inspirational, adorned with beautful eastern artwork, spacious and light. It is not difficult to see how this man produces such amazing music when surrounded by unbelievable views of the Topanga hills. Mac is instantly warm and friendly, he has an inner peaceful energy that is mirrored by his home and natural environment. I was delighted to be able to hand him some vinyl copies of As I Kiss You and thank him in person for his work on the song.
He showed me his studio where As I Kiss You was mixed and we spent much time chatting about the track and other work - he played me an awesome remix of Depeche Mode's latest record, Precious, that he has done with his partner in crime the amazing Victor Calderone.
Mac, it was so fantastic to meet you and I hope that one day we can work together again - it would be an honour to produce music in his truly spectacular studio! Thanks Mac!
Onwards to Sydney in a couple of weeks for the mindblowing Mardi Gras - gonna get As I Kiss You spinning on some of those DJs' decks! NickXX

Hello Mama family!
So here we are at the end of 2005, the year has flown by at a pace!
The Video
As you may know Harriet and I completed the shoot of our promotional video for ‘As I Kiss You’ a few weeks ago and are now working closely with our production team – Chic (cameraman and editor) and Andy Ofield – adding the final tweaks and effects. I have now seen 3 or 4 versions and am losing my ability to judge it, thank goodness for the professional eyes!
The video shoot was great fun, any excuse for Harriet and I to dress up and perform!! We spent most of the daylight hours on the rooftops high above Soho. It turned out that Chic, our master cameraman, is afraid of heights – and when you see the video you will see that this shoot was not for the faint hearted! The buildings have now created a beautiful urban yet classic backdrop for our song, a perfect definition of Mama Razzi. I'm not even going to begin saying how cold it was up there, but we are professionals so we always keep smiling and never complain!

The latter part of the day was spent in the warmth of the pub itself as we transformed one of the function rooms into a funky and glamorous night club, thanks to about 20 of our friends (including my wonderful cousin Emma!), a glitterball and flashing lights! I would like to thank everyone who came down and got involved, Harriet and I are always overwhelmed by the energy with which people support us and the video is testament to that! It won’t be long now until the finished product is available to watch on line. The shoot ‘wrapped’ at about 2100hrs and we all had THAT drink…… I needed it! I would also like to thank Derek, our 2nd cameraman and Andrew Skidmore for shooting some ‘wicked’ stills on the precarious roof top and the steamy club (you made us look HOT!)
Solo News
I made my solo performance debut at The Red Room in Piccadilly Circus on 30th November. The set went well but I must admit to falling foul of nerves at the beginning as I suddenly realised that I was up there in my own; Harriet was not by my side that night but was cheering me on from in the audience, not where I normally see her! I overcame the initial nerves and found my stride again after the third song from which point my confidence grew throughout the rest of my 8 song set. I was proud to be performing brand new material in what was a milestone for me and the next gig is now in sight for the New Year. Plus I will soon be launching my own website which will include links to Mama Razzi, my solo work and some other projects that are in the pipeline.
So what's coming up for Mama Razzi in 2006? Well we aim to start the year with a BANG!

12” Vinyl Release of ‘As I Kiss You’ – January 23rd 2006
Yes we have had our delays, yes Harriet and I have lost the plot more times that I care to remember BUT the date has been set and I have seen evidence on the distributor’s website! What can possibly go wrong? This release will test the water! We need the song to make an impact in order to persuade our record company to invest more money for a major commercial release! We are looking for ways to give our tune the most exposure possible so, if you happen to know the controller of Radio 1 or you work for L’Oréal and need a tune for your latest lipstick ad campaign (come on ‘As I Kiss You’!?) or you are editing the next romantic Hollywood blockbuster and need THAT tune for the two leads to fall in love to – get in touch! It's all about the BIG PUSH now – all ideas are welcome!
Release of Video for ‘As I Kiss You’
Coming to mamarazzi.co.uk soon (Edit - it's now up on our new video page!)
New Mama Razzi Material
Harriet and I will be heading back into the studio to produce some new tunes. I have just had my super new PC constructed and, like a kid in a sweet shop, I can’t wait to get stuck in.
So for now, I would like to wish everyone a fabulous Christmas and a very prosperous 2006. Thank you for all your support, as Harriet said, it really does keep us going. Thanks also to Jeremy Walker, my cousin and man of many talents who has been the visionary behind mamarazzi.co.uk – he puts up with my incessant emails asking for last minute mail-outs and spends much time correcting my hastily written grandma! (Don't you just believe it! - J) Thank you Harriet – Mama Razzi lives on!
Love NickX
Hello peeps!
Well, another year is closing in and what a year it's been. Nick and I have achieved a great deal in the last twelve months. Our summer tour was a huge success and a big THANKYOU to all of you who came to show your support.
We had a blast making the video to accompany the forthcoming release of 'As I Kiss You', and I would like to thank all our friends who volunteered as our 'extras' - you were all fantastic! Thank you for your patience, enthusiasm and sense of fun which all contributed to what will be a very exciting and accomplished piece of work. And, of course, thank you to our wonderful crew, Andy, Chic and Derek - your professionalism, expertise and brilliant ideas made it such an easy and pleasant experience. And thank you Chris for the pub!!
Look out for the video very soon on this very web site - you're in for a treat!!
It is said that good things come to those who wait, and Nick and I certainly know a thing or two about waiting...let's hope that the 12" release of 'AIKY' proves to be something worth waiting for after so many 'nearlys'!! Our optimism and tenacity have been seriously tested this year and it really is thanks to all your faith and support that we keep going... Let's keep believing...
Well, I can't quite believe the festive season is upon us already so, as the saying goes, MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY, HAPPY, HEALTHY AND PROSPEROUS 2006 TO YOU ALL!!!
Lots and lots of love, and enjoy those hangovers,
Harriet xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
